About ABLE
The ABLE Act permits an individual to:
- Save tax-free
- Save beyond the $2,000 SSI asset limit
- Save with help from family & friends
Eligibility
Eligibility Requirements:
- Florida resident
- Qualifying disability
- Onset prior to age 26
Qualified Disability Expenses
Save for a variety of future expenses:
- Includes living expenses
- No requirement of medical necessity
- Need not benefit the individual exclusively
Public Benefits
ABLE works with public benefits:
- Save up to $100,000 without losing SSI
- Save even more without losing Medicaid
- Contributions from family and friends are not considered income
