ABLE United, the state’s qualified ABLE program, celebrates reaching over $100 million in savings on the first-ever national ABLE Savings Day.
Established in 2015, ABLE United allows individuals with disabilities to save for future expenses while maintaining eligibility for public benefits like SSI and Medicaid. And with tax-free growth, it’s a game-changer for many Floridians.
John Finch, director of ABLE United, expressed the significance of this achievement: “This $100 million milestone is a testament to the power of ABLE accounts in Florida and the profound impact they have on the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. ABLE accounts have helped foster independence, confidence, and an improved quality of life for our account holders.”
Florida joins 43 other states in celebrating national ABLE Savings Day on Wednesday, August 14, aiming to raise awareness about this innovative savings opportunity. Nationwide, more than 170,000 Americans with disabilities have saved $1.9 billion in ABLE accounts.
“We want every Floridian with a disability to know they can achieve financial independence and plan for a brighter future without jeopardizing essential benefits. That journey starts when they open an ABLE United account,” Finch added.
Join the over 10,000 Floridians that are securing their future with ABLE United. It’s more than saving; it’s investing in a better life.
